Track your working hours and work activities for this week (by adding all activities to your calendar, for example). After the week, check for these insights:

• How many hours did I actually work fully focused?
• How many breaks did I take in between working blocks?
• Did I spend enough time on my top priorities?
• Are there any working habits I could change to improve focus and increase hours with top priority activities?

The world is busy. Especially for you, if you're working on a side project or your startup. Take one evening off meetings, tasks, ToDos, and socializing (may be more difficult than it sounds). Block two hours to take a long walk to reflect on your mission, goals and values: ​
What is important to you? How do you envision your professional future? Is my current path leading to growth?

Sometimes it takes time to zoom out and look at your life from an outside perspective. It's worth resisting the urge of staying busy and slowing down for 2 hours. With mental clarity you will speed up afterward.

Storytelling expert Philipp Humm came up with five simple techniques to get people hooked the next time you tell a story.

Check out the 'zoom-into-the-moment' techniques:

1. State where the story happened. What is the location?
   Don't mention too many details. People want to envision the place and fill the details of the space with their imagination.
2. State the action. What are you doing in your story?
   Use clear verbs.
3. State your thoughts. What are you thinking in the story?
   Share your raw, unfiltered and authentic thoughts. Don't use indirect speech, but actively express your thoughts (like 'I thought: What an amazing action' instead of 'I thought that the action was amazing').
4. Show the emotions. What are you feeling?
   Use gestures and facial expression to underline the emotions that were present in the situation of your story.
5. Use Dialogues.​
   Make your story engaging by incorporating dialogues. Same as with stating thoughts: use active dialogue instead of indirect speech.
