40 Hour Kit: One Cheap Experiment by Friday

(Here for the subject line? Find it in the πŸš€ Challenge section)

Hey Reader,

I recently heard about a founder paying street musicians to perform beside an advertisement poster for their startup. No big billboard. No social media ads. Instead: a local artist, happy people on the streets, and great content to publish afterwards.

What's your best idea to use your marketing budget to bring joy to people while advertising your product or service? Hit reply and let me know.

And now, let's get into your 40 Hour Kit for the week:

πŸ’‘ Entrepreneurial Insight

You don't have to be tortured into greatness to do great work.
Kevin Kelly (co-founder of WIRED) built his whole body of work by following curiosity, not a grand, hustle plan.
"Pursue a direction, not a destination."

Based on a report on Kevin Kelly by Brie Wolfson (CMO of Colossus Magazine).

βš–οΈ Balance Hack

On busy days, skip the all-or-nothing workout and take exercise snacks instead:
Under-a-minute pushes of movement, throughout the day.
For example: taking the stairs in the morning, at midday, and in the evening gives real cardio gains with no gym and no scheduling.

Inspired by the research from Martin Gibala (professor at McMaster University, author of 'The One-Minute Workout').

πŸš€ Challenge

Run one small, low-risk experiment beside your core business.

  1. Pick what you already own: An audience, a method, a dataset, a reputation people already trust. Your next bet should cost almost nothing to start.
  2. Build it in a week: A premium add-on, a paid workshop, a productized version of the thing you keep doing by hand.
  3. Charge from day one, and put it in front of real buyers:
Your existing list, your network, your customers.

Goal: one cheap experiment live by Friday that could open a new revenue line, without risking the business you've already built.

Based on the 'portfolio of small bets' approach from Daniel Vassallo, the ex-Amazon engineer who sold his community to Gumroad for $3.6M.

✨ Recommendation

Louis Morgner, co-founder of 7-figure startup Jamie AI, shares his take on how to find Product-Market-Fit:

  1. PMF is a truth-finding mission. Either people buy or they don't. Run the smallest experiment that can prove you wrong, then repeat. Ignore vibes and slides.
  2. Revenue and retention are the only votes that count. Free means nothing; paying means the problem is real.
  3. Root yourself in one behavior and one painful problem. Solve a single sharp pain 10x better before you chase the next five.
  4. Build the obvious thing, not the clever thing. Winning products look obvious in hindsight. Fall in love with the problem, not your tech.
  5. Charge early. Niche first. Pricing is a truth serum, and a small, retained niche beats a big, indifferent crowd.

Based on '10 Principles for Finding Product–Market Fit' by Louis Morgner.

❓ Question for you to ask another Entrepreneur

If you remove every goal you're chasing for status rather than joy, what would you still choose to work on tomorrow?

Wishing you a nice and productive week!
